Mizoram Minister Offers Rewards To Couples With Most Children Aizawl: Mizoram sports minister, Robert Romawia Royte, awarded Rs. 2.5 lakh and mementoes to 17 parents boasting of having the maximum number of children in his constituency of Aizawl East-II on Tuesday in an attempt to stimulate a “baby boom”. Minister Royte, also proposed a financial reward of Rs 1 lakh to living parents with the maximum number of children in his constituency on Father’s Day in June to encourage population increase among the demographically small Mizo populations. Ngurauvi, a widow from Tuithiang locality who borne 15 children including seven sons received the ‘first prize,’ which included a financial incentive of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation from the Minister. Lianthangi, a widow with 13 children from Chhinga Veng, won the second place, which included a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and a citation.
