  3. 1898 Dear Journal, I have just bought my very first automobile.  It is splendid!  It is much easier to drive an automobile than to ride in a horse drawn carriage!  Until I Write Next, John J. Astor
  4. 1911 Dear Journal, My wife has taken my offer to drive our new automobile to board the RMS Titanic into consideration.  I’ve bought first class tickets for my family. Why is it the women always get to decide things like that, I wonder? Until I Write Next, John J. Astor
