  3. In two cases • there is no auxiliary verb in the statement ,these cases are ( simple present and simple past) • in these two cases an auxiliary verb is added in order to make the inversion possible • Do / does for the simple present • Did for the simple past

  4. Important Idea • Questions can be asked without inversion if a rising intonation is used • This is often done when the speaker is requesting confirmation _ that is a Yes /No answer • You are from Australia ? • Mary is coming?
