SOLID Detector Assembly Mockup: Design and Testing Overview

SOLID : Assembly Mockup : Buhour-Guilloux : 12/2013 Sketch of the full assembled mockup Closing sheet 72 cubes PEHD primary shielding 4 parts Al frame, 4 parts MPPC Backside stiffeners MPPC protection Mockup will be built to test assembly solutions and the proposed design of the SOLID detector

  2. SOLID : Assembly Mockup : Buhour-Guilloux : 12/2013 2 kinds of stifferner will be tested. Stiffener will be use to improve the stiffness of the détection plane during the assembly procedures (backside stiffener mounted only) and during the shipping and mounting on site (stiffener mounted en both side). Sheet and stiffener will be removed after the detector installation. Shorts stiffeners 1 mm stainless steel sheet longs stiffeners

  3. SOLID : Assembly Mockup : Buhour-Guilloux : 12/2013 mockup, with back side shorts stiffeners, ready to be filled with cubes and fibres

SOLID : Assembly Mockup : Buhour-Guilloux : 12/2013 Lifting eye bolt Detector (mockup) in working configuration, for the testing of the lifting solution, supporting solutions, will be built also to test the stiffness of the plastic closing sheet alone when the detector is in vertical position.
