  4. Problem Statement • The problem was that using air conditioning and heat in all of the dorms throughout the year could become very expensive and was not environmentally friendly.

  5. Mission Statement • Create aluminum blinds that can: • Reflect light in • Save on heating/cooling costs

  6. Style of blinds • Horizontal vs. vertical panels • Type of insulation for the inside

  7. Prototype • Polyethylene foam with aluminum coating • Reflects sun light in and out • Insulated center holds heat in
