  2. Housing Unit Method • Advantages • Updated counts of housing stock by Type • Can be used for small area estimates (tract, block group, etc) • Disadvantages • Quality Control (clerks complete permit form)

Data Collection/Estimate Process • All cities notified mid December • Link with password sent out last week of December • Cities have 2 weeks to respond • Permitted and Completions by housing type • Quality Control/Data Checks • Population estimates by type calculated • Estimates emailed to City Managers • Estimate gets published
