Tuition and Fees*: • Tuition & fees from $16,905 per year, assistantships available • The total tuition for an entire program depends on the number of credits each program requires for completion Example: M.S. in Computer Engineering Tuition: $997/credit Fees: $130/credit Number of credit hours in order to complete program: between 30 and 33 • Cost of entire program without fees: between $29,910 and $32,901 • Cost of entire program with fees: between $33,110 and $37,191 *Tuition & Fees are estimates and subject to change by academic year

English Language Institute at UMBC: • Academic English Program- for students conditionally admitted to UMBC* • Three intakes per year (January, May & August) • Semesters last 15 weeks • Students may complete a level in one semester • Tuition & Fees • $100 application fee- covers cost of I-20 shipping • $4,600/15 week semester; $3,450/8 week summer intensive • Application Process • Apply first to UMBC for conditional admit- if granted student will be encouraged to apply to ELI • Student can submit English Language Proficiency scores but will be placed in appropriate level once ELI test is completed upon arrival • Full admission to UMBC Graduate program is program dependent • Central Campus Location & On-Campus Housing Available • * Intensive English Program available with 5 intake dates/year

Graduate Assistantships May Be Available: • Graduate Assistantships provide opportunities for international students to work closely with faculty members and undergraduate students in teaching, research, or administrative environments • Skills learned in graduate assistantships prepare students not only for the academy, but also for corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations • Graduate assistantships also provide graduate students with the financial resources: stipend, tuition remission, and benefits

Admissions Requirements: • $50 Application Fee • The Graduate School recommends applicants have at least a 3.0 GPA or “B” average when applying • Students who are unable to meet the minimum GPA standards may still be admitted to graduate study by demonstrating outstanding performance on one or more of the graduate aptitude tests or by providing letters of recommendation • TOEFL 80/ IELTS 6.5 • GREs are required by most programs but not all • At least 3 Letters of Recommendation are required for most programs
