  23. Munich Conference - Sept. 1938 • Czechoslovakia is allied with France. • Sudetenland region has many Germans and is pro-Nazi. • September 1938: Hitler demands that Sudetenland be given to Germany. • Conference in Munich, Germany to work out solution. Britain and France there. Czechs aren't!

Homework • College-prep notes: pp. 441-446 (3 sections) • One page for each section • It’s a bit more than usual, but we will be done soon. • Record as much as seems important – you will always be able to go back to your book if you miss something. • Put in about 12-15 minutes of work per section – more if you are being distracted or lazy! • Analysis: • Random questions are OK, but not so useful as real thinking. • “What would have happened if Hitler died in WWI?” is less helpful than “I think that if Hitler had died in WWI, then someone else would have taken his place, because the conditions in Germany were so bad.” • There will be more tomorrow, so don’t fall behind! • Feel free to get ahead!
