  7. Ethos • related to the English word ethics • making yourself seem trustworthy and honest • reputation

  8. Practice On your Ethos, Pathos, and Logos handout, underline the example(s) of Ethos in pink.

  9. How’d You Do? As I’m sure you already know, I am a good person. Dr. Berry, my physics teacher, always says, “Crystal is such a good kid. I wish there were more like her.” Santa, I think you can clearly see that I would be an excellent candidate for a new kitty.

  10. Pathos • related to the words pathetic, sympathy and empathy • pathos touches a nerve • compels people to listen and to act

  11. Pathos appealing to your audience’s emotions

  12. Emotion joy sadness patriotism thankfulness worry etc.
