Understanding the Arctic Fox: Habitat, Diet, and Conservation

The Arctic fox, also known as the polar fox, is a unique species characterized by its smaller, rounded ears and broader muzzle compared to the red fox. These animals inhabit the Arctic regions of Europe, Asia, and North America and are omnivores, feeding on lemmings, Arctic hares, birds, and carrion. During spring, they may prey on ringed seal pups. With populations numbering in the hundreds of thousands, their numbers fluctuate with lemming availability. We must contribute to their conservation by not hunting or harming them.
