  14. Prophecy • Prophecy – predictions and their accurate fulfillment • Prophecy is found throughout the Bible • Over 1,817 prophecies are found in the Bible • Throughout both Old and New Testaments • Direct evidence of supernatural knowledge • Compelling witness for Divine inspiration of Scriptures • Objective – prophecies written centuries before fulfillment

  18. More… • Scriptures declare the eyewitness testimony • “Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, Even as they delivered them unto us, who from the beginning were eyewitnesses.” (Luke 1:1-2) • For we have not followed cunningly devised fables when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty” (2 Peter 1:16) • “For the life was manifested; and we have seen it, and bear witness; and shew unto you the eternal life” (1 John 1:2)

D. • New Testament (NT) Preservation • Over 5,230 ancient manuscripts extant in Greek • Over 10,000 very old Latin Vulgates and other languages • Traditional Text retained in Church use through the centuries – strong consensus for accurate preservation
