  2. What is it? • A story about an event in YOUR life. • Choose an event that CHANGED you…

  3. Ingredients: • A clear sequence of events involving YOU • A conflict or problem (major or minor) • Effective descriptions of people, places, and events • DIALOGUE to show (not tell) • The insight you gained from the experience

  4. How do I do this? • Devise a plan – use a plot map to identify the IMPORTANT events in a LOGICAL order • Identify the CLIMAX beforehand so you can BUILD up to that part of your story

  5. How will it be graded? • ON TIME with PROPER HEADING / HEADER • (1) imagery / description (diction) • (2) varied sentence structure / length (syntax) • (3) dialogue
