Whatisit? • It is a wearable computer in the form of a pair of eyeglasses. • The frame supports a head-mounted display and all the other electronic components. • The user can pair Glass with their Android device through Bluetooth or use it stand alone through Wifi. • Interaction is done with natural voice commands or touch.

Specifications • Powered by a Lithium Polymer battery • 5 hour life with average use, 1 – 2 hours with heavy use • Dual core CPU with 12 GB of internal storage • Prism projector display with a 640 x 360 resolution • Microphone and touch pad • 5 MP camera, records video in 720p • Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity • GPS and SMS through phone

  5. Functionality • Hands free interaction with Google Now • Browsing the Internet and find information • Getting walking or driving directions • Read and respond to text messages and emails • Take pictures and videos • Live video sharing • Translations • Listen to music (coming soon)

Sound • Glass uses a bone conduction transducer • Creates sound by transmitting vibrations through the bones of the skull. • Can be used by users with normal or impaired hearing. • Makes it difficult for other people to hear the sound. • Mono earbud is available (can be for left or right ear) • Stereo playback earbuds will be available • Costs $85 • Allows for the user to listen to music through Google music

Problemswith Glass • Battery life is limited and forces user to conserve battery life. • Cannot currently be used if the user wears prescription eyeglasses. • Google plans on releasing Glass to be usable by anyone. • Has a limited range of what it can do and what it can do well. • Reading large amount of text is difficult • Limits the features in some applications

  9. Pricing and Release • Explorer version is available • Released February 2012 for development • $1500 price • Currently not available to general consumers • Release planned for late 2014 • $300 - $500 price
