  2. What is Cyber-Bullying? • Some people think that cyber-bullying is limited to the computer. Its not. • Cyber-bullying actually refers to not only the computer, but any other electronic device. • Emailing, texting, talking on the phone, chat rooms, social networking sites, and game sites. • Cyber-bullying can be scary and mean. It can also easily hurt someone and embarrass them. • Some people are oblivious to what people who are cyber-bullies are capable of.

  3. Instant Messaging • You can be bullied by emailing, but Instant Messaging is a much faster way to communicate through the computer. • You can instant message people through many different applications like Facebook chat, Aim, Meebo, Msn, Yahoo, Oovoo, Skype, etc. • This and texting are huge for cyber bullying. They are the most popular and are used the most.

  4. Facebook • Facebook is a very popular social networking site that brings a lot of friends and other people together. • Some ways of Cyber-Bullying using Facebook are through facebook chat, Inbox messaging, or wall posts. • Another way is to use the “Honesty Box”. There you can write anything about a person, and they would not even know who you are. Its anonymous other than knowing if it is a boy or girl.

  5. Texting • Through texting a lot of things are able to happen, especially cyber-bullying. And although it isn’t hard for people to find out the person that their texting by tracking the number. Nothing discourages the people who do this, which makes it much worse. • But the problems in this century is that a lot children think that they can do everything by themselves, but in reality that’s not true and when something like that happens they should report it, no matter what.

  6. Ways To Avoid Cyber-Bullying • Don’t talk to strangers no matter where you are, or what you’re doing. • Looks can be deceiving. Don’t judge people by their looks. For example, people’s profile pictures on Facebook may mislead you. • If you sense anything suspicious tell someone you trust like a teacher, relative, friend, or just your parents. • Never send harmful or cruel messages. Sometimes something only a little mean can get very exaggerated and get you into a lot of trouble.
