The University of Idaho Extension Community Development program focuses on improving rural communities through targeted actions and community reviews. This initiative involves the creation of design plans for outdoor public spaces, farmers' markets, and community gardens to boost local economies. Key strategies include workshops on artisan entrepreneurship, asset development, and cooperative marketing. The program's goal is to cultivate human and social capital, ensuring communities have the capacity to implement sustainable economic initiatives and cultural industries in rural regions.
