Graphics To Be Used • Primarily • Graphics used in each topic, will be used to captivate the interest of the student by adding visual appeal to the presentation.Example provided for Topic: Personal Business Letter • Secondary • Some graphics will be used to illustrate the topic by providing an example that can be viewed as information is presented.Examples provided for Topics: Savings, Checking, Financial Values, and Alpha-Numeric Keys
Banking Services Savings Accounts Graphics Needed: • Money (bills, coins, checks) • Bank/ATM • Savings Register • Deposit Slip Location of Graphics: Graphics shown are easily available through ClipArt functions included in MS Office software. Graphics not shown are not readily available on the web or, if shown, not in a format that I find usable. I currently scan these images and edit these to produce the image I want. Financial Values Graphics Needed: • Examples of Each of the Financial Values • Status, Security, Self-Actualization, Self-Indulgence, Economic Faith Graphics shown are easily available through ClipArt functions included in MS Office software or more realistic images can be found on the web. Personal Business Letter Graphics Needed: • Images containing the Parts of a Personal Business Letter (Examples) • Image containing an example of a Personal Business Letter • Images providing visual interest Location of Graphics: Graphics not shown; images of letters available via clipart and from online sites do not fit my purpose for the graphic since it does not effectively illustrate the format of the letter. I typically scan the letter and use the image in PowerPoint, or type the letter as students follow along using a Computer-based projection delivery format. Alpha-Numeric Keys Example of a Keyboard Graphics Needed: • Keyboard example • Alpha keys to be used • Numeric keys to be used Location of Graphics: Some graphics can be found by searching only through various subject-specific sites, such as Keyboarding Lessons. Graphics not shown are not readily available on the web or, if shown, not in a format that I find usable. I currently scan these images and edit these to produce the image I want or I just use symbol representations of text/numeric graphic needs. www.senselang.com/
Summary Each topic presented becomes more appealing to the learner when presented with graphic images that visually gain the learner’s interest, as well as reinforce the topic by providing a visual example as information is presented. Each graphic presented will be used in classroom instruction by using PowerPoint software for instruction and/or the creation of handouts or transparencies to be used in class activities. The End
