  4. New York heritage www.nyheritage.org • Includes material from over 150 institutions from the 6 Upstate NY3Rs Councils (and some from METRO) • Over 480,000 items online with new additions daily

  5. Benefits of Joining New York Heritage • Statewide web site and marketing • Software, server and web site provided at very low cost. (Can be $10,000 cost savings.) • Training and guidelines provided • May be only feasible way for small institutions to get images online • Sets stage for sharing records with other platforms Card catalog, CDLC Images, Capital District Library Council

Responsibilities of Joining New York Heritage • Attend training • Select items • Digitize items – can be done by a vendor • Create metadata • Provide information about your institution for the web site • Follow minimum standards • Deal with master copies Siena College Early American Collection, South Carolina, Deed of Indenture, 1769, Siena College Archives Historic Photographs Collection, Siena College Library
