  2. IYC-Background • The Indigenous Youth Caucus is comprised of numerous indigenous youth from various States, organizations, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. • Ever since the first session of the PFII, young indigenous participants have gathered together and developed statements voicing concerns of the youth. • The IYC was formally inaugurated in 2006. • In 2008, the PFII and Secretariat recognized the IYC as a working caucus.

  11. UNPFII-Registration • Registration will take place in the Visitor's Lobby. Participants must enter the UN through the Visitor’s Entrance on 1St. Avenue facing 45th. Street. • Registration times during the tenth session: • Friday 13 May 14:00 - 16:00 • Sunday 15 May 13:00 - 16:00 • Monday 16 May 08:00 - 15:45 • From Tuesday throughout the duration of the tenth session, registration will be open from 9:00 – 12:30 and from 14:00 to 15:45 . • Make sure to bring the confirmation letter as well as a photo identification document to get a UN ground-pass.

UNPFII-Agenda • Election of officers. • Adoption of the agenda and organization of work. • Follow-up to the recommendations of the Permanent Forum:(a) Economic and social development;(b) Environment;(c) Free, prior and informed consent. • Human rights:(a) Implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;(b) Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people and other United Nations human rights mechanisms. • Half-day discussion on Central and South America and the Caribbean. • Comprehensive dialogue with United Nations agencies and funds. • Future work of the Permanent Forum, including issues of the Economic and Social Council and emerging issues. • Draft agenda for the eleventh session of the Permanent Forum. • Adoption of the report of the Permanent Forum on its tenth session.
