This report details the current status of our prototype project as of April 12, 2006. Key members of the team, including Michael Harrison, Will Moore, and Clint Perry, have reviewed our progress and addressed construction challenges. All components are present or nearly completed, with minor modifications for pin diameter and release latch geometry. Current concerns focus on manufacturing timelines and assembly logistics. Immediate tasks include drilling handle cap holes, purchasing materials, and developing the final report for presentation. Updates will be provided weekly.

This Week • Prototype Review • Bring current prototype • Construction Status • What still needs to be completed • Difficulties encountered in acquiring materials or fabrication
Significant Updates • All parts are in shop or completed, except for cable which will be purchased already made. • Diameter of top plate pins were modified to accommodate cap hole diameter of 1.12 in. • Release latch geometry simplified • Have cap for handle, need to drill holes for pegs
Concerns • Time-frame for manufacture/assemble • Once parts are made, we have to be there to have it attached to the jack • Some assemblies require all of the parts to be made before assembly • Shop work load • Other people working on prototypes as well as the normal work load of the shop
Current Work • Have cap for handle, need to drill holes for pegs • Purchase materials for parts we are going to manufacture ourselves • Still need to purchase cable, manufacture release handle, manufacture cable lever • Start working on final report/presentation
Next Week • Prototype update
