It willprovide input for all the material producedwithin this WP; In WP3 it will participate at workshops forpartners, contribute to the Slovenian overviewof existing approaches and to the list ofbottlenecks. It will appoint professionals tothe transnational expert working groups,contribute existing knowledge to the databaseand participate at study visits. Lakatamia Municipality Key activities of the organisation: Services to the residents of Lakatamia including sanitation (both sewer and refuse), provision of drinking water, street construction and maintenance, street lighting, public health and food safety, and social services such as parks, theatres and social clubs. Role in the project: Partner Experience with energy efficiency measures: Isle Pact and Covenant of Mayors – Energy Action Plan for 20% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020. Key activities of the organisation Local corporation with a staff of 715 employees (2012), structured in a mayor 4 specific Areas, the Mayor, the Municipal Corporations and Municipal Institutes.The environmental commitment of the City Council have made clear in recent years with actions aimed at sustainable development, such as joining the Aalborg Charter-Local Agenda 21 (1997), environmental and social recovery of the river area (2001-2003), integration river area at Natura 2000 (2006), joining the Convenant of Mayors (2008) , aproving the Local Action Plan for Sustainable Energy (2009), participating in Euroscapes EU project (2010), participating in SUD’EAU-2 EU project (2012).
Role in the project Collaborating with leader Partner and leaders of WP1 WP2, WP3, WP4, and WP5. At WP5, pilot implementation of 3 measures according to the targets of Local Action Plan for sustainable Energy 2009- 2020: “championship” for energy saving in public buildings; remote control systems for energy management in public buidings; specifications of solar installations with energy efficiency criteria. Experiencie with energy efficiency measures Joining to “Covenants of Mayors on Climate Change” (2008). Aproving Action Plan for Sustainable Energy 2009-2020: 235 actions aimed to promote the energy efficiency and RES in all sectors of the municipality, and 126 actions to develop directly in 25 public buildings. Main actions and results in public services (2009-2012): installation of renewable energy systems as solar thermal in buildings, energy saving control unit, energy accounting and energy saving indicators calculation, changing of contracted power, suspension of unnecessary water and electricity supplies, measures for energy saving lighting, monitoring energy and water in 26 buildings, Information and communication activities .
