Our Mission: • Create and preserve opportunities for affordable housing and economic development and to revitalize underserved communities in the District of Columbia. • DHCD focuses on three strategic objectives: • preserving and increasing the supply of quality affordable housing; • increasing homeownership opportunities; and • revitalizing neighborhoods, promoting community development, and providing economic opportunities.

  12. Lead Safe Washington Program • Contractors are invited to participate in bid opportunities.   13. Single Family Residential Rehabilitation Program • Contractors are invited to participate in bid opportunities.   16. Development Finance Division Provides gap funding for the development of affordable rental units, homeownership units and community facilities for residents of the District of Columbia. Property Acquisition and Disposition Division Current Inventory: 120 Lots 25 Buildings Acquires vacant, abandoned and deteriorated properties and disposes of them by selling the properties to be rehabilitated into high quality affordable and market-rate housing for residents of the District of Columbia.
