  17. Taoism • Dates back to 300 BCE • Belief in immortality • Loved nature • Believed in leading simple lives • Competed with Confucianism for popularity, but Confucianism still remained the most widely practiced religion in China

Ramadan • Ramadan - ninth month of the Muslim calendar. • Muslims observe the Fast of Ramadan. • Lasting for the entire month, Muslims fast during the daylight hours and in the evening eat meals and visit with friends and family. • It is a time of worship and contemplation [think]. • May seem extreme, but it teaches compassion.

Holy Book = Torah What holidays do they celebrate? Which is their holiest holiday? Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Passover, Chanukah ….Yom Kippur is the MOST holiest holiday.
