Graphics Cards A Graphics Card is an expansion cardwhich generates output images to a display. Most graphics cards offer various functions such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors. Other modern high performance video cards are used for more graphically demanding purposes, such as PC games.

Graphics Tablets A graphics tablet is a computer input device that enables a user to hand-draw images and graphics, similar to the way a person draws images with a pencil and paper. These tablets may also be used to capture data or handwritten signatures. It can also be used to trace an image from a piece of paper which is taped or otherwise secured to the surface. Capturing data in this way, either by tracing or entering the corners of linear poly-lines or shapes is called digitising.

Digital Cameras A digital camera is a camera that stores images digitally rather than recording them on film. Once a picture has been taken, it can be downloaded to a computer system, and then manipulated with a graphics program and printed. Unlike film photographs, which have an almost infinite resolution, digital photos are limited by the amount of memory in the camera

Printers In computing, a printer is a peripheral which produces a text and/ graphics of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print media such as paper or transparencies. Many printers are primarily used as local peripherals, and are attached by a printer cable or, in most new printers, a USB cable to a computer which serves as a document source.

Monitors A monitor is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry, and an enclosure. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size.

CD Rom A CD-ROM is a pre-pressed compact disc that contains data accessible to, but not writable by, a computer for data storage and music playback. CD-ROMs are popularly used to distribute computer software, including video games and multimedia applications, though any data can be stored (up to the capacity limit of a disc). Some CDs hold both computer data and audio with the latter capable of being played on a CD player, while data (such as software or digital video) is only usable on a computer (such as ISO 9660 format PC CD-ROMs).

HDD A hard disk drive a non-volatile, random access digital magnetic data storage device. It features rotating rigid platters on a motor-driven spindle within a protective enclosure. Data is magnetically read from and written to the platter by read/write heads that float on a film of air above the platters.

Memory SD Cards Secure Digital (or SD) is a non-volatile memory card format for use in portable devices, such as mobile phones, digital cameras, GPS navigation devices, and tablet computers.The SD card range in size from SD, mini SD and micro SD cards

Vector Graphic Software In computer graphics, graphics software or image editing software is a program or collection of programs that enable a person to manipulate visual images on a computer. Computer graphics can be classified into two distinct categories: raster graphics and vector graphics. Many graphics programs focus exclusively on either vector or raster graphics, but there are a few that combine them in interesting ways. It is simple to convert from vector graphics to raster graphics, but going the other way is harder. Some software attempts to do this.

Photo Manipulation Software In digital editing, photographs are usually taken with a digital camera and input directly into a computer. Transparencies, negatives or printed photographs may also be digitized using a scanner, or images may be obtained from stock photography databases. With the advent of computers, graphics tablets, and digital cameras, the term image editing encompasses everything that can be done to a photo, whether in a darkroom or on a computer.

Bitmap Software Bitmap software is biased on the bit code i.e. 0 or 1. the software lets you store it as a binary image. It is a type of memory organization or image file format used to store digital images. The term bitmap comes from the computer programming terminology, meaning just a map of bits, a spatially mapped array of bits. Now, along with pixmap, it commonly refers to the similar concept of a spatially mapped array of pixels. Raster images in general may be referred to as bitmaps or pixmaps, whether synthetic or photographic, in files or memory.

Photoshop I believe that Photoshop is the best as it gives me a better that other sorts of photo manipulating software as it is able to produce more complexes images even though it is harder to use than paint

Comparison: Paint vs Photoshop • There are some major differences between Photoshop and paint some are: • Paint: Easy to use, not to many complex work/art made on it, cheep to get and it comes with the computer. • Photoshop: not that easy to use first time but it gets easer when you use it a lot, more complex work can be made on it, expensive to buy (if wanting the best vision of the software). Difference in quality for Paint Photoshop  ->

Conclusion form evaluation • From the evidence I have given I believe that Photoshop is better as you can make better quality images than what you can do in paint.

Converting files Is when you convert a file to one software to an another. The data is encoded in a variety of ways for the different purpose of the person using it. For example, computer hardware is built on the basis of certain standards. Data conversions may as simple as the conversion of a text file from one character encoding system to another; or more complex, such as the conversion of office file formats, or the conversion of image and audio file formats.

File size File size measures the size of a computer file. Typically it is measured in bytes with a prefix. The actual amount of disk space consumed by the file depends on the file system. The maximum file size a file system supports depends on the number of bits reserved to store size information and the total size of the file system. For example the size of one file cannot be equal or larger than 4 GB. • File sizes range from • 1 byte = 8 bits • 1 KB = 1,024 bytes • 1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes • 1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes • 1 TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes

Naming files The purpose of naming file is so that if you have two files that are both in the program allows you to be able find the right program that you need instead of looking for it aimlessly in your computer. Naming the files help people distinguish the difference between two files of the same type.

Different file types Is the way that you code a file on to the computer to be able to store it more effectively. Each file type uses up different amount of memory to it. The different file types: BMP: Is a bitmapping software used in windows environment PNG : it stands for Portable Network Graphics and is similar to a GIF but cant be used to animate with. GIF: Used for animating and stands for Graphics Interchange Format JPEG: it stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group is a commonly used method of loss compression for digital photography
