  2. A topic sentence tells the main idea of a paragraph. It is usually the first sentence. It is followed by supporting sentences which explain the idea.

  3. Study the paragraph • Take a shower rather than a bath. A shower uses about 30 to 80 litres of water while a bath uses 150 to 200 litres. When you shower, remember to be quick and turn off the shower when soaping.
