Death of Benazir Bhutto • Benazir Bhutto, the ex-president and prime minister candidate of Pakistan, was assassinated Thursday, 12/27/07. http://www.soilander.wordpress.com The attack that occurred on 12/27 was on Bhutto, pictured above. http://www.cnn.com The suicide bombs involved in the Bhutto attack killed 20 people.

  3. The Attack • Bhutto had just left a campaign for the PPP. She stood up through her bullet-proof car’s sunroof to wave. • She was shot at, and shortly after explosives were set off, killing 20 people around her. http://www.cagle.com Many people fear for Pakistan’s future now that Bhutto is dead.

  4. The Death http://www.cagle.com • Al Queda stated that they were the ones who planned the attack. • Bhutto’s actual cause of death is uncertain, leading to different theories. Bhutto, whose candidacy for Prime Minister promised democracy and peace in Pakistan, was killed by Al Queda. She was a target because of her controversial ideas.

  5. Source Unknown The After-Effect http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/ -Bhutto’s death triggered mourning internationally. -Riots broke out after her death, resulting in 20 more deaths. Two men suspected of being the attackers. After Bhutto’s death, riots broke out in Pakistan.

Caucuses and Primaries http://www.cagle.com -Four caucuses and primaries have so far been held across the nation -These will determine whose name will appear on the ballot as the candidate for his or her party The two leading democratic candidates, Obama and Clinton, each are relying on different messages. Clinton has experience while Obama promises change.

  9. Recession Fears http://www.cagle.com -Recent studies have shown that 3/4 of Americans think we are or will be in a recession in 2008. Many economists believe that our economy is beyond the help of the plans Bush is proposing.

  10. http://www.cagle.com Economists fear the “dead” economy is beyond repair, especailly if consumer activity decreases. -Americans are afraid of slipping into a recession, therefore are spending less. Without normal levels of consumer activity, the economy is suffering.

  11. Americans and economists fear a recession. Over 70% of Americans think we are in a recession or will be in a recession in 2008. Cause of Recession http://www.money.cnn.com -Economist hold hold housing and credit markets, housing slump, mortgage difficulties, high gas prices, and the Iraq war responsible for the recession, as well as lowered consumer activity.
