Special Bill Procedures • Bill must be filed 24 hours before lading of cargo on the vessel at Port of Origin • Master VOCC must provide UTi with MBL# (SCAC plus up to 12 alpha/numeric) in advance so that it can be entered in the manifest entry process • UTi must update Import2000 with VOCC’s SCAC code • VOCC should also submit MBL 24 hours prior lading of cargo on to vessel • “1Y” sent to NVOCC
Major Changes in the Import2000 System • SNP1 (second notify party) – Mandatory field • Master Bill – VOCC’s MBL number mandatory • MBL# must include issuer’s SCAC code • UTi must monitor match/no match prior to load (“1Y) • UTi must monitor Holds at port of load (“6H”) • UTi should ensure that VOCC enters our SCAC code as SNP1 in order to see disposition messages • SNP fields expanded from two to eight Import2000 Automatically Links HBL to MBl as needed
Key Items to Know Any bills filed prior Dec.6 that require action after Dec. 6, will have to be amended as follows: • Add MBL number and SNP1 • Re-submit HBL • Make sure that “1Y” is received • If no “1Y” – contact VOCC (VOCC’s MBL must be entered into AMS)
