  3. 3TH Series Hydraulic Cylinder NFPA Tie Rod Style 3000 PSI Nominal 5000 PSI Non Shock

  4. 7L Series Medium Hydraulic NFPA Tie Rod Cylinders 1500 Max Pressure ( Bore Dependent)

  5. 7K Series Pneumatic NFPA Tie Rod Cylinder 250 PSI

  6. 1A Series Pneumatic Aluminum Cylinder NFPA Interchangeable 200 PSI

  7. 101 K & L Series Air & Hydraulic Cylinders 150 PSI Pneumatic 1500 PSI Hydraulic 1 1/2” - 8” Bore

  8. Interchangeable between 3TH-7L-and 7K dependent on rod size • All rod cartridges accept a variety of seal types • Made of Ductile Iron for for 3 times the life • Bolted type construction - removable with standard tools • 2 year limited warranty

  9. Rod Material • All series are designed with 100,000 psi minimum yield through 3 1/2” diameter and are induction hardened to 54 Rockwell C. • Rods are “hard chrome plated” and highly polished ( 5 - 18 RMS) to offer reliable service and extended life. • Rods 4” diameter and larger are 50,000 to 90,000 psi minimum yield.

  10. Tie Rod Materials • 100,000 psi minimum yield, medium carbon steel. • Threads are “rolled” to offer 40% more strength than standard threads. • Pre-stressed at assembly with high strength allow nuts to minimize elongation.

  11. Tubes • Steel tubing with bores micro-honed to 8 - 15 RMS finish for positive sealing. • All tubes piloted to assure perfect alignment with end covers and to prevent “breathing”, minimizing the possibility of leakage. • Chrome plating standard on the 7K (optional on 3TH & 7L) .0003 - .0005 thickness. • Filament wound fiberglass available for 7K (10”, 12” & 14” bores). • Special materials available upon request.

  12. Heads & Caps • Machined from precision broached blocks of free machining steel. • Machined using CNC machine tools for perfect alignment and concentricity • NPTF ports are standard • SAE ports available (standard size) at no extra charge where available. • Oversize welded half-couplings (optional).

  13. Sealing • Tube seals with back-ups (3TH) are placed on the ID of the tube to minimize the possibility of leakage. • Rod wipers are double-lip polyurethane to protect the rod, bearing and rod seal. (Metallic scrapers are available as an option) • Rod seals are single-lip polyurethane. • Many optional seals are available. (Viton, Teflon, Buna, etc.)

  14. Sealing (cont’d) • Piston seals are flexible lip type with non-extrusion rings (3TH) for positive sealing, low friction and long life. • SCR piston rings (optional) automotive type piston rings available 1.5 - 14” bore.
