  2. Allies Enter France • By June 10, the Allies had broken the Atlantic Wall for good • Fought the battle of the Hedgerows • July 17- Rommel is injured

  3. Assassination Attempt On Hitler • Count Klaus Schenk von Stauffenberg attempts to kill Hitler • Rommel is linked to the plot • Forced to commit suicide

  4. Allies Move Further into France • Allies start bombing the Germans and drive further into France • Hitler launches a counterattack and pushed Omar Bradley’s troops back. • Allies are able to push into Paris and Liberate it.

  6. The Polish Uprising • Russians had pushed the Germans back into Poland • Patriots in Warsaw rose in revolt. • Urged to do so by Moscow radio • Germans used five full division • Churchill and Roosevelt ask Stalin for help • Stalin refuses

  8. The Polish Uprising • Poles and Germans were locked in street-by street fighting • Fighting was very fierce • Poles finally surrendered when supplies ran low. • Stalin took control of Poland • Promised free elections in Poland after the war, which never took place
