Definitions Decimal point- a period separating the ones and the tenths in a number EX: 1.2 Decimal- a number with one or more digits to the right of the decimal point EX:.05 Dividend-A number that is being divided EX 429 / 3 (429 is the dividend) Divisor- The number by which the dividend is being divided Quotient- The result of a division problem Remainder- The number that is left over after one whole number is divided by another.
