  5. Some Common Nematode Extraction Methods • Foliar samples Punching and incubating Scissors technique • Soil samples Baermann funnel Modified Baermann funnel • Root Samples Jar incubation and sieving Blending and sieving

  6. Foliar Extraction Techniques:Using a punch or scissors • Principle Nematodes migrate out of the leaves when the lesions are soaked in water

  7. Materials Required Hole punch or scissors Petri dish or other container

  8. Cut leaf tissue and place in water

  9. Punch the lesions and place tissue disks in water

  10. Take samples near healthy tissue

  11. Incubate 24 hours and observe under microscope
