  1. Write a multiple choice question for each section of this chapter. (Please use your own questions – not ones from the book) Be sure to include the answer. Make your index card look like a test!!

  2. TAKE THE ROLE OF A NUMBER AND TELL HOW EACH SECTION OF THIS CHAPTER AFFECTS YOU.

  3. COMIC STRIP Make your index card a comic strip. In some way include a description of each section and an example of each section (with an answer). Use words and pictures.

  4. DESIGN A MAP • Draw a map making each section of the chapter a different city • Give an example for each section. You can do this in your key or even right on your map. Be sure to give an answer for each example.

  5. Note Taking • Make your card into a notebook page • Be the teacher and make quick notes for each section of the chapter. • Be sure to have an example section • This should be your own work – not copying your notes from class

  6. Using a Flow Chart Put each section of the chapter on a flow chart (it does not have to be one like the one above – this is only a sample) and either give an example or give a description for each section of the chapter below its heading. You can develop your own flow chart. Be sure to give answers for any examples you provide.

  7. Plan a Game • You are creating a new board game for this chapter. • Include the name of your game • Directions for playing your game • Questions that must be answered while playing your game (at least one question for each section of the chapter). Give answers for your questions. • How do you win this game?? • Include a sketch of the game • You do not need to actually make the game!

  8. Write a Poem • Write a short poem explaining each section of the chapter.

  9. WHAT TIME OF YEAR IS IT? Decorate your card for the season and somehow give a brief description of each section of the chapter. For example, in October you could make pumpkins and describe each section in a pumpkin.

  10. You can make an illustrated flashcard for each section of the chapter Each flashcard is a review of that section You draw the flashcards on your index card FLASHCARDS

  11. Write a letter to Dr. Math… Write a letter explaining to Dr. Math what you have learned in this chapter. You must explain each section. End your letter with a question about a topic in the chapter. The question must be difficult (a reach question). Then write Dr. Math’s short response with the explanation to your question.

  12. The Daily Math Develop your own newspaper using the information from the unit • This could be used as an ongoing theme from unit to unit where you design your paper and then after each unit you write new columns. • Be sure to include details and examples with answers. …………..SAMPLE………………. Integer Family Missing!! The integers are missing….last seen on the number line. It seems that 7 was added to -7 and then disappeared. How can that be? We discussed this with our expert, Dear Math Lady, I am having some trouble lately multiplying long lists of integers. Are there any tips you can give me? …………..SAMPLE……………….

  13. Design your own Think of your own idea for an index card that reviews the information learned in the chapter. Let me know what you plan to do so I can approve it before you do it.
