SJSU Experts Database Includes current faculty and administrators with an academic background identifying themselves in any of the following categories: • Media Contact • External Speaker • Collaborative Researcher Is not a faculty directory, but a user-friendly, easily accessible way to connect mutual interests and resources across our campus and into the community-at-large. http://experts.sjsu.edu/
SJSURF Funding Alert System • Disseminates funding opportunities to SJSU faculty and staff via e-mail. 1.Matches keywords from funding opportunity to keywords chosen by faculty. 2. E-mails a “Funding Alert” to faculty with matching keywords. • Funding opportunities include Federal, State, private foundation and corporate sponsors.
Keywords • A “keyword” is the concise definition of a research topic. • Faculty can choose keywords representing their research interests from the SJSURF Keyword List. • The Keyword List can be accessed through our website at: http://www.sjsufoundation.org/sjsuf-faculty-resources/locating.htm
What is SPIN? • SponsoredProgramsInformationNetwork (SPIN) is a funding opportunities database designed to provide up-to-date information on current federal, non-federal, and international funding opportunities, including: Fellowships, Research Grants, Publication Support, Sabbatical Support, RFAs (NIH Guide), Curriculum Development, Conference Support, RFPs (Commerce Business Daily), and more. • Contains more than 2,500 sponsoring agencies, which together fund over 11,000 separate funding opportunities. • SPIN enables users to search the database using selections from various categories (keywords, location, sponsor, deadline, etc.)
Community of Science (COS):www.cos.com/ Contains funding opportunities in: • Physical sciences • Social sciences • Life sciences • Health and medicine • Humanities and arts Searches more than 25,000 records, representing over 400,000 funding opportunities. We will examine three functions of COS: • Searching • Displaying Results • Saving your Results
