  9. Class Procedures • Bathroom breaks are at recess! If you still have to go you will pay me two wolf treats. • Get a drink when Mrs. Smith is not teaching or talking to class. Get a drink during seatwork. • Sharpen Pencil during seatwork not when Mrs. Smith is teaching! • If Mrs. Smith is teaching please stay in your seat and listen attentively.

There Will Be No... • Leaning Back in Your Chair • Talking At Inappropriate Times • Negative Attitudes • Goofing Around!  • Stealing From Others • Marking in Books, on Desks, or on property that doesn’t belong to you • Picking noses, scabs etc. YUCK! • Disrespect of any kind will NOT be tolerated!

  16. Manners Are Always Used At School and They Include: Saying Please, Thank You, and Excuse Me Offering Others Help Admitting You are Sorry If You Make A Mistake  Just be the BEST person you can be, and PLEASE use a POSITIVE attitude!!!

Playground Rules Slide- Do not walk up slide, one person slides down at a time (feet first), and no slide tag Jungle Gym-Two hands on bars, no sitting on top of the bars Swings- One person on a swing at a time, Both hands on chains while swinging, Remember to swing for 60 seconds if someone else is waiting

  22. More Playground Rules • No running around play equipment • Keep hands and feet to yourself • Do not litter • No eating on Play equipment • When whistle blows, walk to class, line up nicely (quiet, no bouncing balls, etc.) • When whistle blows, or bell rings recess is OVER!

  23. Bullying • What is it?A person who treats others with disrespect and has a desire to hurt, threaten or frighten someone.

  24. Types of Bullying • Intimidation/threatening behavior • Physical abuse (hitting, kicking) • Verbal abuse (calling others names, putting them down) • Demanding money • Stealing, hiding or damaging belongings (books, clothing, etc.) • Teasing people • Spreading rumors or letters

  25. Bus Rules • Wear seatbelts • Face forward • Don’t distract the driver (by singing, yelling, screaming, etc.) • If you don’t follow school and bus rules, you may lose the privilege of riding it!  Are these kids following the rules?

  28. First Quarter Math • Arrays, multiplication, division, factors & factorization, square numbers & square roots

  29. Language Arts • Weekly spelling words will be given, focus will also include; vocabulary instruction, understanding story elements, genres, writing perfect paragraphs, & we will read Kid in the Red Jacket as a class

  30. Quarter 1 Social Studies • Current Events- TFK, CNN, & National Geographic, newspapers (informational text) • What is Geography? We'll focus on continents, oceans, landforms & countries

  31. Quarter 1 SCIENCE Human Body! • Body Systems-skeletal, respiratory, nervous, muscular, circulatory, sensory, digestive • Inside your head! • Healthy Eating

  32. That's All! • Great Job Listening! • We will have a stupendous, spectacular, wonderful, exciting, year!
