  2. ReportMaker AdvancedA SmartMarks "How To" Session SmartMarks play a significant part in the creation of an effective template for use with your ReportMaker Task. This session will cover the process involved in developing a professional ReportMaker Template to rapidly produce consistent, repeatable and attractive proofs/reports using your Automation Engine.

  12. STEP1 open template eskoworld 2013 start.pdf in PackEdge • STEP2 start adding smartname JOBNAME using textmark the smartname will use the information attached to the job. First define this information by using the “info” button for the current job.

  22. STEP7 page 3 shows separation details of theinput job. Several placeholders are created that will function as guides to position the smartmarks. box# placeholder will help the rectangle smartmark to place a colored bar on the top of each box. placeholder# placeholder will help the image smartmark to place each separation in the window

  26. STEP8 page 4 uses a 3D view of the input file. Prerequisite is a structural file (ARD, DAE, ZAE), to make this work. Label.pdf has an ARD embedded.

  27. use imagemark, taskinputfile3D to add the mark to the place- holder.

  28. STEP9 now it’s time to create the report. Run the reportmaker task in Automation Engine. Select label.pdf as input file. (right click – launch)

  29. STEP10 sit back and enjoy your first report that was automatically created ! Think of all the time you will be saving ! the report is created in a new folder called “ReportMaker”. Use “view” to view your report. Remark : when using Acrobat to view your report, make sure overprint preview is turned on in preferences.
