  2. Am Lit DO NOW: 2/18/14 • Turn in Week 4 Do Nows to US MAIL BOX. Take a “Chunking Handout” • Respond: What is a hashtag? How does it work with twitter or facebook or instagram? • Don’t use social media? What do you think a hashtag is?

Success Today Means 2/18/14 • You classify your notes into what they have in common with each other by creating “Hashtags” for each notecard you have written. • You continue to seek out new information. Judging the source of that info for its credibility, record the citation/create a source card, and take notes on relevant information. • Starting to chunk now will also help you take better notes because you are more aware of what you are looking for. • HW: same all week: create 5 new notecards ( should be getting toward 10 sources soon btw)

  5. Am Lit DO NOW 2/19/14 • Answer as many questions as you can: • What is a “database” • What is EBSCO? • How is EBSCO different than the Internet. When done, take an MPS Research Resource Handout. Then add these websites to your notes (NOT on same paper as DO NOW) www.bibme.org www.citationmachine.net www.easybib.com

Success Today Means 2/19/14 • You classify your notes into what they have in common with each other by creating “Hashtags” for each notecard you have written. • You continue to seek out new fact using MPS Research Resources as well as the internet, judging the source of that info for its credibility, record the citation/create a source card, and take notes on relevant information. • Starting to chunk now will also help you take better notes because you are more aware of what you are looking for. • HW: same all week: create 5 new notecards ( should be getting toward 10 sources soon btw)

  7. Am Lit DO NOW 2/20/14 • Let’s see how your chunking is going. Name three hashtags you are using for your topic. Since others may need help, those willing to share will get dippied!

Success Today Means 2/20/14 • You classify your notes into what they have in common with each other by creating “Hashtags” for each notecard you have written. • You continue to seek out new fact using MPS Research Resources as well as the internet, judging the source of that info for its credibility, record the citation/create a source card, and take notes on relevant information. • You should be seeing your large topics through the subtopics you have chunked. • HW: same all week: create 5 new notecards ( should be getting toward 10 sources soon btw)

  9. Am Lit DO NOW 2/21/14 • Create a SMART goal for today. Keep in mind that you will not have any more class days to research notecards. 50 notecards are due in one week. • After your class time smart goal, note any strategies you will need to get the work done on time. Consider: do you have a computer at home? A library card? Will you need to use your dippy zone time next week? Etc. • Have your week six DO NOWs on your desk. We will turn them in after we share our goals

Success Today Means 2/21/14 • You classify your notes into what they have in common with each other by creating “Hashtags” for each notecard you have written. • You continue to seek out new fact using MPS Research Resources as well as the internet, judging the source of that info for its credibility, record the citation/create a source card, and take notes on relevant information. • You should be seeing your large topics through the subtopics you have chunked. • HW: 50 notecards from 5 sources by next Friday for a total of 55 index cards (50 notecards, 5 source cards)
