Output area A:Action learning on Agri-business Development • Participating organisations are improving their understanding and practice • Currently 15+ cases in various sub-sectors from SNV, Heifer, Oikocredit-Pawdep, HSHC, PELUM, Solidaridad, ICCO-Forefinance KENFAP, WRCCS, IDCCS, KOAN, KIOF, Ufadhili Trust, KCPA • Skill improvement sessions and coaching • New cases welcome! Next stop 28 – 30 September

Output Area B:Access to Financial Services and Products Objective: clarity on demand for financial products regularly updated menu of appropriate products to address finance gaps Improve services (technically, commercially, risk mitigation) to producer organisations Activities (so far): Value Chain Finance Market Study and Event Linking financial service providers to action –learning cases of APF Kenya members Next stop: joint development of follow-up agenda by Oikocredit, ICCO, SNV, others ……….)

Output Area C (Policy) and D (Knowledge Development) Policy Services to policy issues in agri-business cases Enhance the capacity of commodity organisations Next stop: KENFAP to link up to agribusiness cases Knowledge development Joint learning agenda (ongoing link to cases) on: linking farmers and service providers motivating private sector actors collective action of producers assessment of financial risks and investments opportunities producer organisations Methodologies in value chain and system analysis fair distribution of investments and returns Empowerment of women and youth in agricultural business Linking to institutes of higher learning (KIM, JKUAT, etc.) Next stop: review and publication of finished cases (good practice)
