  1. Museums and Computing Ryan Williams Noreal Nissan Guarang Limachia Jigar Patel Lawryn Chinn

  2. Science and Industry it first opened in 1933 Major permanent exhibits include: U-505 Submarine, the Coal Mine, Baby Chick Hatchery, The Great Train Story, ToyMaker 3000, Earth Revealed, Genetics, Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle, the Pioneer Zephyr, Farm Tech and Take Flight. The museum is home to more than 35,000 artifactsnamed one of the seven wonders of chicago by readers of the chicago tribunenamed one of the top 15 museums in the world by life magazines millenium edition

  3. Museum Technology Many of the complex exhibits on display at the Museum of Science and Industry are run by computers The large trains are run on automated tracks that are activated by computer timers The egg heater that allows the baby chicks to hatch is also run by an automated computer system

  6. Adler Planetarium The Adler Planetarium utilizes a device known as the Digistar 3 Theater system which uses a program called Direct3D as well as producer support programs Direct3D is a program that when employed allows for quick and easy rendering of large video files which can then be converted and played on a large screen The main usage of this computing technology is to project video on a fulldome screen allowing for a vastly more immersive experience than is normally capable with a normal flat screen

  7. Museum Computers Computers are used directly for a more hands-on experience

  8. Sounds of the Sun

  9. Adler Planetarium The Planetarium explains why we strive to explore what is beyond Earth (i.e. universe) From the days of Copernicus to present we have made huge strides in science, but still have not answered the age old question “where did we come from” To answer this question we are constantly sending space shuttles to explore the far reaches of the universe-take pictures and send them back in order to analyze them

  10. Adler Plantarium The Planetarium had a sample Mars Rover Space shuttles like (Mars Rover) is equipped with state of the art cameras For example the Mars rover was used to explore the planet It was equipped with nine arms/cameras Six of the arm/cameras were used to explore the planet as if a 5’ human were actually walking (3D motion) on the planet. The remaining three arm/cameras were used as a geologist’s tool (exploring the rough terrain)

  11. Adler Planetarium Adler Planetarium had many simulations (for example an impact a meteor makes when it hits planets was demonstrated) By such simulations one could get a better understanding of meteorites Another simulations included the different types of stars (red giants, super giants and white dwarfs)

  12. Adler Planetarium WELL AS I WALK AWAY FROM THE INVIGORATING PLANETTERIUM I FEEL I HAVE FULLY UNDERSTOOD HOW COMPUTERS ARE USED TO IMPROVED EVERYDAY TASKS COMPUTERS ARE USED TO PROJECTED MOVIES AND DOCUMENTARY WHICH AWARES THE CROWD TO INFORMATION ON THE PLANET COMPUTERS ARE THE FUTURE !!!!!!
