  1. Technical Performance • The first and main difference between the two systems is the new component to make the detent effect independently of the standard wiper. This component is a new design made in ACP to improve the performance of the potentiometers with detent effect. • The component that makes the detent effect turns together with the wiper that contacts with the resistive track, but they work independently. The first one produces the detent effect and works with a spring effect to maintain the pressure on the collector and the second one gets the electrical signal.

Advantages - Improvements • More number of detents. 22 possible versus 14 last system. • Mechanical life increases whatever number of detents: The global system allows more cycles than previous system for several reasons: • The pressure on the collector is maintained in better conditions for more cycles • The wiper over the resistive track works independent and do not transmit the movements caused by the detent to the resistive track as the previous system. The resistive track gets longer life. • There are several points of contact to guarentee a good signal between the collector and the resistive track. • Parameters remain more stable. The resistive track suffers less due to the movements of each detent and the electrical parameters are improved. They are similar to the standard potentiometers without detent effect. • Reliability improves because there are more points of contact between all the components. • The system is available in CA14 / CE14 / MCA14 / MCE14 series

  3. Comparation with competitors • Available in all 14 mm series. (Piher only in determinate models.) • ACP offers up to 22 detents versus 13 detents Piher. • ACP can offer 10.000 cycles from 1 to 22 detents and more cycles upon request. (Piher guarantee 5.000 cycles with 4 or more detents and 10.000 cycles with 1-3 detents) • ACP system is more reliable for long life because it is working with several points of contact between parts. (Piher’s system works with only one point of contact between the parts)
