I will give them rest from all their enemies. In addition, I will make your kingdom last forever, and a son from your descendants to be King forever. I will be His father, and he will be my son.’” Covenant with King David 2 Sam 7:8-16 GOD Make your name great Israel land of their own Rest from enemies Your kingdom will last forever One of your descendants shall be a King forever Identify 5 promises God makes to David. 6. How is Jesus of royal birth? In what way does Jesus’ kingdom last forever? Jesus’ is a descendant of King David through Joseph, his adopted father, and possibly also through Mary. He is in line for the throne.. When the angel visits Mary, to tell her she will have a son, the angel tells her: “.. you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there will be no end." Joseph and Mary had to travel to Bethlehem, the City of David, for the Census, because they were both from the “House of David”.

  7. David wrote half of the Psalms we hear in Church. Draw King David, with a harp, and in his mouth, what he could be singing to God. Psalm 101 Written by David I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life—when will you come to me? Every morning I will put to silenceall the wicked in the land;I will cut off every evildoerfrom the city of the Lord.
