  3. Descended from David • Baptized by John, a Levite • Lord of all the nations • Paid homage by the Magi • Rebuilds the temple of his body • Receives a truly everlasting kingdom Son of David(Jesus Christ)

  4. Descended from David. • Jesus was a direct descendant of David “according to the flesh” and he inherits all the things promised to David. Old Vs. New

  5. Anointed by Levites • The kings of the line of David were anointed with oil to signify that they were God’s chosen leaders on Earth. Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit at his baptism. Old Vs. New

  6. Ruler of an international empire • Jesus was called the “King of the Jews” and ironically, Jesus acknowledged that the title really did belong to him. Jesus is King of the New Israel, which is the Church. Old Vs. New

  7. Paid homage by foreign princes • Jesus was Paid homage by the Magi at his birth in the manger. Old Vs. New

  8. Builds the Temple • Just like Solomon built the Temple in older times, Jesus keeps his Holy body as a Temple for the Lord. Through his resurrection, he rebuilds the Temple of his body. Old Vs. New

  9. Promised an everlasting kingdom • Through Jesus Christ, the gates of Heaven are opened. Now all people have the ability to go to Heaven, to share in the everlasting life of Jesus Christ. Old Vs. New
