  1. “I Mediterranei South/East Dialogue” Modica/Ragusa 7/8 Marzo 2008

  2. The TUNING project The European Idea in the Higher Education Area

  3. Tuning Educational Structures in Europe “The name TUNING was chosen for the project to reflect the idea that universities do not look for uniformity in their degree programs of any sort of unified, prescriptive or definitive European curricula but simply for points of reference, convergence and common understanding”.

  4. TUNING Project “The protection of the rich diversity of European Education has been paramount in the Tuning Project from the very start and the project in no way seeks to restrict the independence of academic and subject specialists, or undermine local and national academic authority”.

  5. TUNING Project “TUNING is a university driven project which aims to offer a concrete approach to implement the Bologna Process at the level of Higher Education Institutions and subject areas”.

  6. TUNING Project “The Tuning approach consists of a methodology to (re-) design, develop, implement and evaluate study programs for each of the Bologna cycles. It can be considered valid worldwide, since it has been tested in several continents and found fruitful”.

  7. TUNING Project “Launched in 2000 and strongly supported, financially and morally, by the European Commission, the Tuning Project now includes the vast majority of the Bologna signatory countries”.

  8. TUNING MOTTO “Tuning of educational structures and programs on the basis of diversity and autonomy”.

  9. TUNING METHODOLOGY “It has been designed to understand curricula and make them comparable”.

  10. Five Lines of Approach “1.- Generic competences or transferable skills 2.- Subject-specific competences 3.- The role of ECTS as an accumulation system 4.- Approaches to learning, teaching and assessment 5.- The role of quality enhancement in the educational process (emphasizing systems based on internal institutional quality culture)”.
