  2. End rhyme • Ex. Sally saw her silly sister by the swings. • She also realized that her teacher sings.

  3. Internal rhyme Ex. The rabbit in the yard had a habit of eating clover.

  4. Perfect rhyme • *when the final vowel AND consonant sounds rhyme • Ex. swings, sings • shack, lack

  5. Slant rhyme • *when either the final vowel OR consonant sounds do not rhyme in an end rhyme • Ex. assonance or consonance found in end rhymes

  6. Assonance • Ex. toe, doe • tapestry, knee • tomb, dune

  7. consonance Ex. Dad kicked the mad raccoon with his bad foot. Mom left the gym to sing a hymn with Gram. Ex. dove, move rigid, troubled rink, tank

  8. ALLITERATION • Ex. Sally saw her silly sister by the swings.

  9. Personification Ex. The sun smiled down on the children in the park. The wind played in the fir trees .
