  2. GCSE: RESISTANT MATERIALS This course is aimed at those who enjoy designing and making high quality three dimensional products. Coursework (60%) Theory Examination (40%) In order to complete a task like this you will be given knowledge and skills related to: ·Product planning · Tools, techniques and equipment · Production processes · ICT applications using CAD/CAM · Industrial applications ·Good working practice Resistant Materials Catering Electronics Childrens Care Graphics Joinery

  3. GCSE CATERING The course consists of two elements, these units concentrate on the food preparation and service aspect of the hospitality and catering industry. (60%) – Coursework (40%) - Written Paper Two practical tasks are selected from a bank of six set tasks.: Task 1; (Worth 20%) Considers differing ingredients to dishes to improve elements of their nature. E.g. ’Using dairy products produce and serve two sweet and two savoury dishes that could be included on a menu’ Task 2; (Worth 40%) Regards the development and creation of a two-course meal.  E.g. ‘Celebrity Chefs have been promoting the importance of a healthy diet.   4. Resistant Materials GCSE ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS This course is aimed at those who enjoy designing and making electronic circuits and would like to find out more about them. Coursework (60%)  In order to complete this task you will need knowledge and skills related to: ·Product planning ·Tools and equipment ·Circuit production processes ·ICT applications using CAD/CAM ·Industrial applications ·Good working practice Catering Electronics Childrens Care Graphics Joinery Theory Examination(40%)

  5. GCSE CHILD DEVELOPMENT The course is useful for students who are interested in the subject or who wish to pursue a career in the caring sector. Coursework (60%) The one Individual Task and three Short Tasks are completed during the two year course.   7. JOINERY COURSE CONTENT City and Guilds Building Studies (Joinery) Level 1 The Joinery Course is a mainly practical course and is 100% practically assessed. Assessments are made up of a series of timed making activities using appropriate materials. “The Certificate in Basic Construction Skills has been designed by City & Guilds to provide basic training in construction skills for those seeking employment in the construction industry. “ Timed practical tasks include: · Through Mortice and Tenon · Stub Mortice and Tenon · HaunchedMortice and Tenon · Centre Bridle · Dovetail Halving · Through Dovetail · Double Mortice and Tenon · Shouldered Housing · Slot Dovetail Housing · Nail Box Plus one final timed practical task.
