What is a composition? • The term composition means to put things together. • composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work. It can also be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art.

Paul Cezanne • (1839–1906) was a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter. • Post-Impressionists extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations: they continued using vivid colors, thick application of paint and real-life subject matter, but they had more of an emphasis on geometric form.
