Stimulus and Response • Self-Awareness -The ability to think about your thought process • Imagination-The ability to create in our minds beyond our present reality • Conscience - A deep inner awareness of right and wrong • Independent Will-The ability to act based on our self awareness, free of all other influences

  5. Proactivity • Reactive People vs Proactive people • Responsibility • Values • Experiential • Creative • Attitudinal

  6. Proactivity • Taking the initiative Taking the responsibility to make things happen • Proactive culture within organizations • Listening to our language I can’t and If only vs (can, will, choose)

  7. Circle of Concern and Circle of Influence • Direct Control • Indirect Control • No Control • Inside-Out approach • Happiness is a proactive choice • Our behavior is governed by our principles • Keeping commitments to others and ourselves

  8. Habit II Begin With The End In Mind • Start with a clear understanding of your destination • All things are created twice • Your business plan/ your first creation • Leadership (the first creation-the top line) and Management (the second creation-the bottom line)

  16. Brain Functions:The right brain is the more intuitive, creative, with pictures, with simultaneous and holistic thinking.

  17. The left brain– is the more logical/verbal, deals with words, with parts and specific, and deals with sequential thinking, is time bound.

  18. Visualization and Affirmation—It is the ongoing process of keeping your vision and values before you and aligning your life with those most important things.

  19. Affirmation- five ingredients :.Personal.Positive.Present tense.Visual.Emotional

  20. In class exercise:.Write your personal mission statement along with your roles and goals.
