MacBook Air Prep • 2,695 MBA’s were leased from Apple • Imaged and Asset Tagged at Factory • Shipped to Central Location - Clinton High • Unboxed • Powered On • Ran Script to Bind to AD and Enroll in JAMF • Restarted • Labeled with Student Name • Scanned Asset Tag and Entered Name in File • Logged-in as Student to Connect to Network • Re-boxed for Storage with Student’s Name • Organized by Grade Level Where Excellence is the Only Option!

Meet Your Mac • MANDATORY Orientation Sessions for Students and Parents • Held at Clinton High School • July 19th for CPSD Staff and NHS Students • July 25th - 29th at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. • Registration Online • Three Parts to Each MYM Session: • 1. Presentation on Policies/Procedures • 2. Documentation - Forms/Payment/Backpacks • 3. Laptop Distribution and Orientation • In the first week, we distributed 1,750 MBA’s. • Additional sessions = August 8th & 15th Where Excellence is the Only Option!

  11. iPad Info & Management • 2,530 iPads were leased from Apple • 100 Bretford iPad carts were purchased for “homeroom” classroom teachers. • 28 iPads were placed on each cart. • Each iPad cart has an Apple ID. • Each TEACHER can use the Apple ID to download FREE apps. • Tech Department will use District Apple ID to download PAID apps. • Schools can request new PAID apps each 9 wks. • Teacher will assign iPads 1-27 to students. • Teachers will use iPad 28 on the cart. Student/Teacher Reactions • Quick integration into secondary classes • Class changes happen faster • Students are sharing more with teacher • Paperwork / printing has decreased • Teachers appreciate added organization • Students like personalization of textbooks • Learning engages wealth of new resources • Interesting Data to Date: • Of 2,700 MBAs, only 41 were damaged beyond • AppleCare Warranty during fall semester. To date, • 2 computers were damaged in house fire, 2 stolen, • and 2 students ran away (District was reimbursed). • Discipline referrals have decreased by nearly 10%. • CPSD student enrollment increased by 200 students.
