  3. LEADAlabama (LA) will become the new educational leader • evaluation systemfor LEA use effective August 1, 2012. • LA will replace the existing PEPE program for school • leaders. School system superintendents will be evaluated by • the local school board. • LA implementation is for all administrative, certificated leaders currently evaluated by PEPE such as central office personnel, principals, assistant principals and specialty building-level administrators such as instructional, improvement and program specialists.

  5. The LEADAlabama Development Committee’s recommendations for development were used to guide the develop process of the formative evaluation system. A principle concern of the development committee: LA and the assessments conducted during the LA process must be contextualized to specific situations, and the primary focus of LA needs to be individual growth.
