RAISES CALCULATED ON MID POINTS OF EACH jobfamily • MIDPOINT OF EACH FAMILY & PAY GRADE • Administrators and Professionals • Information Technology • Clerical and Paraprofessional • Auxiliary NOTE: Teachers/Librarians/Nurses – their ‘midpoint’ is determined by calculating the average salary based on a 1st year teacher’s salary and the highest paid teacher’s salary.

DETERMINING Job Families& Pay Grades • JOB FAMILIES • Common characteristics • Nature of work • Exempt/Non-Exempt • Job market • Clarifies and respects different career paths PAY GRADES Jobs are grouped into pay levels or pay grades based on the types of duties assigned, skill requirements, responsibility, and market value. Pay grade assignments are based solely on the job NOT the credentials or performance of the person in the job.

  10. What about equity adjustmentS? What is it? • Based on the comparable school districts, if a position is found BELOW market rate, an equity adjustment MAY be added to that level. Who gets it? • Each year the Board MAY approve a specified amount of budget funds in addition to raises. The Board can specify which pay group to apply market adjustment based on greatest need.
