  4. Saddle ~14.0 mm vs. 15.022 mm ~0.5 mm unsupported strands during w/c/r • Grind by hand due to the late awareness • Not satisfied • Our techs will buff the edges (20 min/part)

  5. Spacer The spacers were fabricated after the awareness.

  6. Plasma Coating Vendor: White Engineering, PA A100 coating passes the curing, reaction and thermal cycle

  7. Thickness measurement • 5 random points on OD, BEND and side surfaces • Fisher dual scope

  8. Thickness measurement • 5 random points on the coating surface

  9. Quotation 1 • Equipped with robotic head • +/- 1mil on priority surface • +/-3mil on curved surface • Response: very slow • Price: high • Delivery: slow

  10. Quotation 2 • Coat manually • +/- 3mil tolerance • Response: fast • Price: low • Delivery: fast

  11. Quotation 3 • Equipped with robotic head • +/- 1mil on regular surface • +/-3mil on BEND surface • Response: fast • Price: low • Deliver: fast

  12. Plan • 6 middle pole pieces (one LHQ coil) to each vendor • Verify the thickness • Measure the coating strength as the parts received and after curing, reaction and thermal cycles. (no impregnation test) • Vendor selection
