It’s all about caring relationships. Staff need to embrace the concept of consistent assignment which foster the creation of true community. Consistent assignment refers to the same caregivers consistently caring for the same residents every time they are on duty. Getting Started • Have Shift Meetings with the CNA’s • Explain Consistent Assignments • Have CNA’s help choose Guidelines for their hallway • Have CNA’s rate residents and choose resident assignments • Meet regularly with the CNA’s to reevaluate groups to see if they still make sense
